Meet Katharine

Registered Dietitian

I am an Eating Disorder Dietitian and IBCLC (Lactation Consultant) who is passionate about supporting folks with eating disorders, disordered eating behaviors, or anyone who is curious about changing their relationship with food and their bodies. Additionally, I work with postpartum families navigating their infant feeding journey, including providing families critical information on infant nutrition and behaviors. I feel  strongly about supporting vulnerable populations in the eating disorder and postpartum space.  While seemingly unrelated, I love that this dual role allows me to educate families on infants’ attunement to their bodies and develop their relationship with food in a positive way from the beginning of life. I strive to create continuity of care by working with families starting in infancy and continuing to help families navigate feeding challenges that may arise with the introduction of solids, selective eating behaviors, or nutrition education for family health.

My approach to nutrition counseling is to use a gentle, harm-reduction, collaborative lens. I promote HAES and Intuitive Eating principles and am accepting of all body types and identities. Exploring the relationship with food and/or body is not a linear journey nor is there an end point–we are holding space and getting curious together! While I am the expert in nutrition, my clients are the experts on their bodies; I take this approach into account when setting goals and navigating my clients’ needs. I welcome the opportunity to learn with and from my clients!

Originally from Michigan, I moved to Philly almost 10 years ago to pursue my Masters in Human Nutrition at Drexel University, while simultaneously obtaining my certification as an IBCLC. Now, I live in Center City Philly and fully take advantage of the cultural hub opportunities. In my free time, you can catch me at all kinds of performances (small music venues, theater, ballet, orchestra, and Flyers games are all favorites!), strolling along the scenic Parkway, working through my to-be-read list, or on the hunt for the best tea in the city!

Katharine can work with clients virtually in AZ, CA, CO, HI, MA, MI, NJ, NY, PA, TX, VT, VA and WA.
